I do not use AI in any part of my business. When you work with me, it's always going to be human-to-human. I only support human-made stock and creators, and hope in that same respect, all responses, conversations, cover brief forms, and inspiration also come from humans.

I have experienced collaboration dysfunction from clients using AI to fill out forms. If we want to create authentic art, that starts with authentic collaboration.

AI often contradicts itself, provides false information, and lacks the touch of human nature that art requires.

All stock that I use is licensed for commercial use from stock sites like Shutterstock, Depositphotos, iStock, and boutique stock groups. I never use free image websites or stock that I suspect is AI (and I tend to be overly critical and cautious).

I have a weekly completion day where I do everything outside of cover creation--formatting for paperback, hardcover, audiobooks, foreign translations, and any other graphic needs.

Completions are done weekly on Wednesdays as long as information is emailed by Tuesday evenings. I can't take same-day requests, so any completion emails sent on Wednesday will be done the following week!

Step 1: Make contact, discuss cover/service needs, set up client portal, place deposit/make payment.

Step 2: Fill out cover brief forms before the day of our appointment. It's best to put in 2-3 covers trending in your genre and keep the brief short and sweet, focusing on visual elements, tone/genre, and what's important to your story. You have until 8:30AM CST the day of our appointment to fill out the forms, and I always send a reminder of our appointment the night before. If the forms are not filled out by the time I would be starting, and no communication has been made from your end, it's an automatic reschedule.

Step 3: Cover creation begins at 9:30AM CST the day of our appointment. If your form answers all of my questions, I dive right in. Please let me know the best way to notify you of a proof or if I have questions--I like to stay in the flow, and good communication through the design process is necessary!

Step 4: Proofing. I'll send the proof, and if you have adjustments, bring them to me in list form. We'll discuss them/apply them. If it's love, we save and move on to the next! If more adjustments are needed, you get 3 total rounds of revisions to make it right.

Step 5: Send final files. With good communication, final files will be emailed same-day.

Step 6: Completing paperbacks/hardcovers. Most times, the paperback/print details (page count, trim size, paper type, and blurb) are not ready by the appointment date, and that is okay! I have a weekly completion day to get those extra items done without long waits or needing to schedule out.

For full priced custom appointments booked without rush, a 50% deposit is due to book, with the remainder due 1 month before our start date.

Premades are premade cover designs that are sold only once, and personalized with your book text when you are ready. They are first come, first serve, and payment is due in full through the Premade shop to buy, unless Afterpay is selected as a check-out method.

If Afterpay is selected, the premade can still be completed before your payments are finished.

Premades are not returnable, but every couple of years I have a "rehoming" event for unpublished covers. Rehoming covers is not allowed outside of this event. Sign up for my newsletter to get details on when this event happens!
